Overview
To address the need for enhanced NDI, Analatom Inc. successfully developed, tested, and demonstrated a novel Automated Inspection with Deep Learning (AIDL) software tool for use in the visual inspection of critical assets. AIDL provides accurate detection and classification of possible surface defects, including cracks, corrosion, and other surface anomalies. The developed AIDL NDI system is based on (1) advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms optimized for anomaly detection in dynamic inspection environments experiencing a wide range of illumination conditions and defect morphology, and (2) a human-in-the-loop (HITL) classification scheme combining rapid, autonomous analysis of high-confidence samples and experienced manual review by human operators for difficult images.
